Donna Nadeem is a Canadian visual artist based in Toronto. She is currently completing her BFA in Studio Arts with a double minor in art history and English at McMaster University. Her area of specialization is based in Persian studies and interdisciplinary art practices (strong foundations in painting). As a multiracial woman of Iranian and Pakistani descent, her exploration of her heritage through its art and culture with its artistic practice seeks to create work that is a remembrance of her culture through a modern lens. In order to build better connections to her culture, she undertook extensive research into the cultural aesthetics of Persian and Islamic art through geometry. Geometry plays a major role in her work as she focuses on creating patterns and designs that reflect her domestic upbringing.
